Rheem high-efficiency gas water heaters are designed to heat water efficiently while reducing energy consumption, saving you money and providing environment-friendly service. Explore the Energy Star models and its top features.
Rheem manufacturer designs and produces an extensive line of gas water heaters for high-efficient heating, and so far there are nine groups. Power vented models are all energy efficient, while from the atmospheric vent units, only those with the powered damper:
A model 43V30-60 is the 29-gallon gas water heater that is designed to provide high energy factor of 0.70, which, with the 60,000 BTU gas input, first hour rating of 90 GPH and recovery rate of 61 GPH, outperforms the standard 50-gallon unit. It is built with a smaller footprint to save space and allow easy installation.
It is equipped with the Guardian system (FVIR compliant), has the EverKleen system to reduce the mineral deposits, self-diagnostic system and eco-friendly burner for low NOx gas emission. It also utilizes connections that allow potable water and space heating. It comes with a warranty of 6 years but can be extended to 10 years.
All Rheem high-efficiency gas water heaters from Professional series are Energy Star compliant. Models are available in several sizes, short and tall, and with the capacity from 38 to 50 gallons. The main component is the 24-volt powered damper that enhances the heat transfer by trapping the heat inside the flue. The water heaters are equipped with the advanced components, such as the self-diagnostic and Guardian system.
Main features:
The HE condensing group has two models whose energy factor is the highest of all Rheem high-efficiency gas water heaters - 0.80. These FVIR compliant units are using the power vent or induced draft system with the vertical and horizontal termination for more flexibility. What makes them different from the standard tank-type heaters is the submerged helical condensing heat exchanger for the increased efficiency and two anodes for extra protection against corrosion. Other great features include the eco-friendly burner, self-diagnostic system, and long-lasting silicon nitride igniter.
There are several models available from this group, but only two are high efficient, 40 and 50-gallon model. These water heaters are built for homes where it is hard to provide the necessary supply of fresh combustion air.

Models 42VP40FN and 42VP50FN are equipped with the stainless steel radiant burner for ultra-low NOx water heating.

Rheem high efficiency gas water heaters with the power venting are also available with electronic control, which has several options with great benefits:
Features:
As the water heating accounts for approximately 15-20 % of the total home energy usage, and since the high deficiency water heaters use up to 50% less energy than standard models (either tankless or tank-type), it is more than obvious why high-efficient models are popular and recommended by the experts.
